Everything in this roundup is something I’ve been loving, rewearing, wanting (or finally ordered after sitting in my cart for weeks). This summer, I’ve been trying to simplify how I get dressed, buying less, wearing more, and only choosing things I know I’ll reach for often. Think: lots of black, white, and blue, pieces I can mix and match, and details that make it feel like me. The goal is a summer wardrobe that feels effortless, wearable, and repeatable — not just trendy, probably a little uniform-y but still fun!!
1. Reformation Monette Linen Dress
I love, love, love a square neckline — I always have — and this one just hits right. I tried this dress on in another color and pre-ordered the black as soon as I felt how soft the linen was. It’s lined (thank god), super flattering, and that rare piece that works equally well with flip flops and a tote or dressed up for dinner. I’ll be wearing it with the shell necklace below and pretending I’m in southern Italy.
2. Etsy Woven Basket
A basket bag is my go-to every summer, and this one is exactly the vibe I wanted — structured but not stiff, roomy but not bulky. I’ll be using this to carry fruit and flowers but also probably my wallet, my keys, and my Kindle. I love a good Etsy find. Some other options here and here.
3. Posse Shift Dress
For around the house, the farmers market, beach cover-ups, or actually sleeping in — I want this so badly. It’s one of those things I keep thinking about and fear I might just have to get. A soft want turned hard want. I also have my eye on this long dress that I think is just so, so pretty and feminine, and maybe a more outside appropriate version of this stunning nightgown from DOEN
4. Frankies Bikinis Triangle Top
Adjustable straps forever. I cannot do a halter top (too much pressure on the neck, literally). This bralette-style top has become my go-to this summer, I reach for it every single time I wear a swimsuit. I pair it with basic black bottoms and call it a day.
5. Reformation Jean Shorts
I’ve been asked about these shorts multiple times. I sized up for a looser, mid-to-low waist fit and I love how they sit. The denim is super soft and already feels worn-in — which is the only way I want denim to feel, honestly.
6. Dissh Lace Maxi Skirt
I had been daydreaming about a skirt like this (sheer but not too sheer, not stark white but a warm/creamy white, a flowy material but not too light, not to heavy…) and this one from Dissh checked every box. So many others I found were just way too see-through (lol, I know, ironic for a see-through skirt). I’ll been wearing it with sandals, espadrille heels, maybe even cowboy boots. And I already have visions of it transitioning into fall with a leather trench or suede jacket. On the topic of skirts — this one has been sitting in my cart for quite some time as well, love the way the material looks and the side tie/fit! This skirt + black bikini top = so chic.
Note: Australian sizing makes me nervous but I got my standard size conversion for a mid/high waist fit and would size up for a lower waist fit!
7. RLT Baby Tees
These are hands-down the best tees I’ve ever found. The only thing that comes close is a random Brandy Melville tee I rarely come across — and when I do, I buy them in bulk. But otherwise, RLT is the one. The fit, the fabric, the colors… I’m loyal.
8. Madewell Heeled Thong Sandals (aka Flip-Flops)
I have a super simple pair of black leather flip-flops (no heel) also from Madewell that have gotten more wear in the last two months than in the two years I’ve owned them. Not sure what took me so long, but now I’m fully on board (thanks The Row?) — and I love that so many brands are making slightly more elevated versions with a little heel. This pair is sleek and minimal, but still feels a little more dressy.
9. Etsy Shell Pendant Necklace
I cannot wait for this to arrive. The Etsy shipping? Not amazing. But the price of the necklace makes it worth it. I already know I’ll be wearing it with almost every outfit in this list — it just pulls everything together and adds a tiny dose of vacation energy to whatever you’re wearing. I got it with the 70cm length chain, also comes in gold.
That’s the list! My summer staples on rotation and the pieces I’ve actually been wearing (or obsessing over). Nothing too trendy, just things that feel easy, interchangeable, and worn over and over again. Hoping this helps if you’re also trying to simplify your summer wardrobe a bit ♡
I just want to be yearning in a nightgown like that
